This year’s conference theme, “AI as a Catalyst for Inclusive, Personalised, and Ethical Education: Empowering Teachers and Students for an Equitable Future,” highlights the potential of AI to create educational architectures /tools/systems that are more inclusive, tailored to individual needs, and grounded in ethical practices. LBR is aligned with the General call in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

The LBR track offers an opportunity for presenting compelling, preliminary results and innovative work in progress. The goal is to give new, but not necessarily mature work a chance to be seen by other researchers and practitioners and to be discussed at the conference. Accepted submissions will be published in the companion proceedings of the conference and will be presented during the conference as posters. We are seeking original research, conceptual papers, case studies, and innovative projects that explore, amongst others, how AI can be used to:

Promote inclusive education, ensuring equitable access and opportunities for diverse learners across various backgrounds, abilities, and contexts.

Support the development of personalised learning experiences, empowering learners to take ownership of their educational journeys through tailored content, adaptive assessments, and real-time feedback.

Foster ethical AI practices in educational technologies, addressing issues of fairness, privacy, transparency, and bias in AI systems used for educational purposes.

Empower teachers and educators, equipping them with AI-driven tools and strategies that enhance teaching practices, improve decision-making, and facilitate more efficient classroom management.

We welcome submissions across a variety of topics, including but not limited to:

AIED architectures and tools;

Machine learning and Generative AI;

Learning, teaching and pedagogy;

Teaching AI

Ethics, Equity, and AIED in Society

Theoretical aspects of AIED and AI-based modelling for Education

Important Dates

Phase

Deadline

Submission due

<s>April 2, 2025</s>
April 5, 2025

Notification of acceptance to authors

April 30, 2025

Camera-ready paper due

May 7, 2025

Conference

July 22 – 26, 2025

Note: the submission deadline is 11:59 pm AoE (Anywhere on Earth) time. Papers that do not use the required format may be rejected without review. Authors should consult Springer’s authors’ guidelines and use their proceedings templates, either for LaTeX or for Word, for the preparation of their papers. Springer encourages authors to include their ORCIDs in their papers. Submissions are handled via EasyChair.

Paper length must be no more than 6 pages (excluding references).

Review Process

All submissions will be reviewed by the program committee to meet rigorous academic standards of publication.

The review process will be double-masked, meaning that both the authors and reviewers will remain anonymous. To this end, authors should: (a) eliminate all information that could lead to their identification (names, contact information, affiliations, patents, names of approaches, frameworks, projects and/or systems); (b) cite own prior work (if needed) in the third person; and (c) eliminate acknowledgments and references to funding sources.

Papers will be reviewed for relevance, novelty, technical soundness, significance and clarity of presentation. It is important to note that the work presented should not have been published previously or be under consideration in other conferences of journals. Any paper caught in double submission will be rejected without review.

Registration and Participation

Each accepted paper within the LBR track must be accompanied by a unique author registration (i.e., one registration per paper). Please note that presenters of papers accepted to the LBR track are expected to be on-site to give their presentations and interact with the audience, to have the paper included in the proceedings. An online streaming option will be set-up for remote observers.

Note that a Best Poster Award will take place. More details will be updated later.

<span aria-hidden="true" class="wp-block-cover__background has-ast-global-color-1-background-color
